Community Coalition Against the Expansion of the Safe Third Country Agreement (STCA) (Committee 73)

Following the campaign to abolish the Safe Third Country Agreement (STCA), which led to a three-day march from Montreal to Chemin Roxham, Saint-Bernard de Lacolle, Comité 73 brings together the organizations and supporters who took part in the march. Its aim is to perpetuate the mobilization and advocacy for the abolition of the STCA.

It may be recalled that the country's highest court dismissed the STCA challenge because the legislative scheme is prejudicial to asylum seekers who fear persecution based on their gender if returned to their country of origin. This challenge was brought by the Canadian Council of Refugees, of which MJC is a member.
